Job summary

Kanry Search is seeking a seasoned Purchasing & Materials Planner with a strong background in EMS/semiconductor manufacturing. You will translate forecasts into material needs, maintain stock levels, and prepare schedules that align with production capacity and component availability.

You will evaluate supplier qualifications, manage purchase orders, and coordinate changes with production, logistics, and finance. Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Economics, Commerce or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, materials planning or a similar function.
• Relevant industry exposure to EMS / semiconductor manufacturing.
• Good understanding of purchasing procedures, inventory control and supplier management.
• Basic knowledge of production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning and manufacturing control systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant business applications.
• Ability to plan coordinated product builds and deliveries while managing multiple tasks accurately within tight timelines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal departments, suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer forecasts and manufacturing plans into material purchasing requirements across different product lines
• Ensure production materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate stock levels and improving inventory turnover
• Prepare material schedules by considering production capacity, board cycle times, urgent requirements and component availability
• Evaluate how customer schedule changes affect production, purchasing, logistics and shipping, and coordinate the necessary order adjustments
• Verify the accuracy of material planning information and revise plans when actual performance differs from production targets
• Assess prospective suppliers through questionnaires and site visits, and work with Finance to establish approved supplier accounts
• Coordinate the return of defective materials and follow up on supplier credits with the relevant internal teams
• Maintain purchase orders, obtain supplier confirmations and reconcile outstanding orders through direct supplier follow-up
• Address critical material shortages, share updates during morning planner discussions and review production readiness with Planning each week
• Act as the customer contact for new product introductions, coordinating requirements from manufacturing through shipment and participating in weekly change discussions
