Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking a Senior Buyer for its Penang-based electrical manufacturing operations. The role focuses on reviewing requirements, negotiating RFQ/RFI terms, and building strong supplier relationships while working closely with planning and demand teams.

The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years in manufacturing or NPI environments, solid SAP knowledge, and experience in PCBA or HLA purchasing. You will drive procurement efficiency and contribute to on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum six to eight years of manufacturing or new product introduction experience.
• Good knowledge of SAP.
• Manage or lead a commodity group for projects.
• Experience handling PCBA or HLA purchasing is preferred.
• Familiar with procurement systems and procedures; drive efficiency in communications and dealings.
• Inter-team communication and strong coordination/supervising capabilities.
• Support purchasing manager in driving team results.

Responsibilities

• Reviews BRP reports and analyses suggested orders or changes.
• Gains working knowledge of materials/sources to purchase per cost/quality standards.
• Develops knowledge of commodities and suppliers for supplier-led expediting.
• Purchases parts/materials using RFQ/RFI negotiations, contracts, and cost analyses.
• Builds strong supplier relationships and coordinates with planning and demand teams.
• Maintains proactive communication with suppliers to resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Keeps purchasing system data accurate and completes assignments promptly.
• Controls inventory levels through negotiation to push out, reschedule, or cancel orders as needed.
• Complies with quality, safety, 5S, and code of conduct requirements.
• Collaborates on NPI activities with the NPI project team and handles RMA/DMR with suppliers.
