Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Sr. Building and Water Engineer in Penang to oversee the reliability and expansion of its site infrastructure. You will direct structural maintenance, water systems, and electrical/mechanical interfaces while ensuring compliance with EHS and regulatory standards.

You will plan, estimate, and manage budgets for upgrades, lead multi-disciplinary projects, and leverage AI tools to boost efficiency and decision-making across facilities operations at Micron.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in building, civil, water, utilities, infrastructure, or facilities maintenance.
• Preferred experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, industrial, data center, pharmaceutical, or large commercial facilities.
• Knowledge of Malaysian codes and local authority requirements (UBBL, MS Standards, SPAN, EHS, fire safety, environmental requirements).
• Ability to develop scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, technical evaluations, risk assessments, and execution plans.
• Solid experience with AI tools and AI-enabled approaches to boost efficiency, productivity, and decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Direct the care and durability of building structures, roofing, façade, roads, pavements, drainage, car parks, fencing, and site infrastructure.
• Coordinate raw water, domestic water, water reticulation, plumbing, sanitary, sewerage, rainwater harvesting, pumping, tank, and drainage systems.
• Plan and complete inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, refurbishment works, and reliability improvement actions.
• Lead building and infrastructure projects from scope development, cost estimation, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, schedules, quality documents, and close-out records.
• Manage contractors, consultants, vendors, procurement support, site coordination, quality control, safety compliance, and collaborator communication.
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates, technical reports, asset lifecycle plans, risk registers, and management updates.
• Ensure compliance with Micron EHS requirements, Malaysian regulations, authority requirements, audits, and internal standards.
• Apply AI tools and AI-supported techniques to boost efficiency, productivity, and decision-making.
