Brenntag Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a senior Food Technologist to provide technical solutions across multiple food categories, focusing on bakery. You will run labs and pilot trials, develop new concepts, and collaborate with sales and marketing to satisfy customer needs.

The role requires hands-on lab work, strong communication, and the ability to train teams across regions while staying current with trends and ingredients.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Food Chemistry/Food Engineer with relevant technical experience.
• Minimum 10 years working experience as Food Technologist / R&D in Food & Beverage industry.
• Preferably with relevant experience across various food segments including plant-based / hybrid solutions for local or overseas markets.
• Experience in the application of various food ingredients as well as blends of ingredients.
• Experience in developing and presenting trends, new solutions and prototypes with customer interface.
• Good knowledge in food nutrition and its application.
• Self-motivated, have sense of urgency and result oriented.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Hands-on person who is able to design and conduct laboratory trials.

Responsabilités

• To conduct hands-on laboratory trials evaluating functionality and performance across bakery and snack ingredients.
• Able to handle processing equipment used in food manufacturing.
• Ensure on-time completion of customer projects and internal trials for blends.
• Collaborate with sales to respond to customer needs and obtain new business.
• Work with marketing on events like Tradeshows or Innovation Days.
• Liaise with Blended Solutions Team to create and roll out innovative blends.
• Train new solution blends to technical and commercial teams in other regions.
• Identify opportunities for new products from current suppliers and trends.
• Provide training on Brenntag’s product portfolio to teams and customers.
• Cooperate with suppliers in knowledge transfer of food technology.
