Job summary

Techstreet Malaysia seeks a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java and Node.js experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications for Malaysia markets.

You will drive AI-assisted coding to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security, and performance through rigorous reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering standards. Collaboration across Product, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, SE, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Node.js.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of OO programming, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Relational databases and SQL knowledge.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Python, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and DevOps (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Node.js.
• Architect scalable, secure software solutions for enterprise environments.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and ensure proper review and testing of AI-generated code.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and champion software quality.
• Write clean, documented, testable code with unit and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, Infrastructure, and other teams to deliver quality software.
• Participate in solution design, architecture discussions, and technical decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning and engineering excellence.
• Evaluate new technologies and AI practices to boost productivity while preserving quality.
