Job summary

Accenture Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and microservices to build and enhance backend banking solutions. You will design REST APIs, implement Kafka‑driven services, and manage containerized deployments with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.

The ideal candidate has 6–9 years of backend experience, strong Oracle DB skills, and a track record of delivering scalable, secure software in Unix/Linux environments.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of hands‑on experience in backend application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and J2EE.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Hands‑on experience in designing and developing REST APIs.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event‑driven architecture.
• Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Strong experience with Oracle databases and relational database concepts.
• Experience working with HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical deliverables, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain microservices‑based applications and RESTful APIs.
• Implement event‑driven services and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and data access components using Oracle.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver quality software solutions.
• Ensure application security, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, unit testing, integration testing, and production support.
• Work in Unix/Linux-based environments and support application deployment and maintenance activities.
