Job summary

RBC is seeking an Operations professional to provide settlement and client support across Cash Equities, FX, Fixed Income & Currencies, Futures & Options, and Treasury Services for global desks. Role involves processing, reconciliations, and daily end-of-day checks across systems like RITS, SWIFT, and Gloss, with overlapping regional hours.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of ops experience, strong SWIFT knowledge, and the ability to work across time zones.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accountability to support all daily business and client services support responsibilities for the Settlement & Clearing Team.
• Responsible for effective management and resolution of payments/receipts/trade processing discrepancies with clients or counterparties.
• Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance with bank rules, circulars and local procedures.
• Ensure daily processing and settlement tasks are completed promptly following established procedures.
• Conduct daily EOD checks and address any issues the same day.
• Provide input on settlement system activity and input across multiple external/internal systems.
• Provide relief support across teams and communicate with Front Office and Global Operations.
• Prepare and update Desk Procedures and Daily Check Lists; generate attestation and KPI/KRI reports.
• Prepare BRAG, RCAP reports; escalate issues and risks to management.
• Seek improvements to streamline the department and mitigate risks.

To provide operational and client support for Settlement and Clearing across Cash Equities, Foregin Exchange, Fixed Income & Currencies, Futures & Options and Treasury Services for global trading desks across various geograhpical time zones (including Royal Bank of Canada Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Sydney, Toronto Branch and RBC Securities Australia Pty Limited)

Australian Market - MYT 06:30-15:30/ 08:30 -18:30

What will you do?

• Accountability to support all daily business and client services support responsibilities for the Settlement & Clearing Team.


• Responsible for effective management and resolution of payments / receipts / trade processing discrepancies with clients or counterparties.


• Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance to the bank rule, circulars, laid-down procedures and local requirements.


• Ensure all daily processing and settlement tasks for the team are completed in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and policies of RBC.


• Ensure EOD checks are conducted daily with any outstanding issues identified and action on the same day.


• Ensure all input and processing on both internal and external settlement systems. (i.e. RITS, Euroclear, Gloss, Exigo, NZ Clear, SWIFT, Clarity, Gloss, RIMMS,CLS etc)


• Provide relief support and other duties as assigned on all functions performed across the teams.


• Ensure effective channels of communication with both Front Office and internal Global Operations colleagues, as well as the external clearing exchange.


• Provide Operations support to sales team & client liason.


• Update Desk Procedures and Daily Check Lists


• Prepare monthly attestation PEGA, KPI/KRI reports.


• Prepare quarterly BRAG, RCAP.


• Ensure proper escalation of issues / risks to management.


• Look for key areas for improvement and development to ensure a more streamlined department.


• Seek to improve productivity by positively challenging the status quo.


• Seek to mitigate and minimize risks with the control in place for BCS.


• Contribute and assist oversight of specific testing and enhancements (systems/process) across Regional Operations and as assigned by management.


• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of operations experience


• Strong working knowledge in SWIFT, Real Time Payment Systems and markets.


• Experience in Front to Back Business & Operational Support.


• Adherence to procedures and control processes.


• Ability to complete ad-hoc tasks and project deliverables by deadlines and achieve performance targets set.


• Flexiable and adaptable to different work related situations.


• Ability to multitask, work with minimal local supervision day to day.


• Ability to recognise potential operational risk events, minimise those risk events as required.


• Excellent time management capabilities and ability to work under pressure.

Preferred

• Diploma / Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferred.


• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
