The Senior Advisor, Human Rights & Grievance Mechanism Specialist will lead strategic initiatives for the Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Team, ensuring our global manufacturing operations and supply chain adhere to emerging legal frameworks, particularly regarding continuous improvement of human rights due diligence and worker grievance programs across our global operations and supply chain.

What you'll achieve

You will be responsible for ensuring our global manufacturing operations and supply chain adhere to emerging legal frameworks, regarding continuous improvement of human rights due diligence and worker grievance. You will support various human rights initiatives across the team and help ensure workers and affected stakeholders have access to effective channels to raise concerns and seek remedy. You will support assessments, investigations, remediation efforts, supplier engagement, and program development related to human rights, worker voice, and grievance.

You will work cross-functionally to design, implement, and maintain robust processes that prevent, address and remediate human rights risks across multi-tier global suppliers. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, hands-on experience in supplier engagement, and a strong understanding of international due diligence standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and OECD Due Diligence Guidance, as well as human rights-related regulations. The candidate will also have deep knowledge into remediation and meaningful stakeholder engagement. SER is a compliance function, and this role will be responsible for operationalizing the requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive in partnership with other human rights experts on the team.

You will:

  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of worker and stakeholder grievance mechanisms.
  • Assess grievance systems against the UN Guiding Principles Effectiveness Criteria.
  • Analyze grievance data and identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with suppliers to strengthen worker access to remedy and worker voice programs.
  • Support investigations of human rights and labor rights allegations, conducting root cause analyses and identifying corrective actions.
  • Track remediation and verify implementation. Provide inputs into human rights risk assessments across the supply base.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to address identified issues.
  • Maintain case management records and documentation.
  • Develop guidance and training materials for suppliers and workers; design capability building initiatives for suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier corrective action plans and progress
  • Support implementation of hotlines, worker surveys, digital reporting tools, and other grievance channels.
  • Monitor emerging regulations, stakeholder expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Support the end-to-end Human Rights Due Diligence process across the supply chain, ensuring alignment with regulations (CSDDD, CSRD, etc.), the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Due Diligence Guidance, and industry best practices.
  • Support and continuously improve the company’s risk based due diligence framework, including driving human rights risk assessments and impact assessments.
  • Strengthen supplier grievance mechanisms, worker-voice channels, and escalation protocols. Evaluate and document remediation outcomes and integrate lessons learned into continuous improvement.
  • Support compliance by serving as a human rights SME for voluntary and mandatory disclosures. Ensure due diligence outputs align with disclosure data and narrative requirements, as well as assurance expectations.

5-8+ years of experience in human rights due diligence, ESG compliance, or supply chain sustainability.

Strong knowledge of international human rights frameworks (UNGPs, OECD Due Diligence Guidance, ILO conventions) and the evolving human rights regulatory landscape.

Strong knowledge of worker voice initiatives and tools, grievance mechanisms, and responsible recruitment principles

Proven success in worker voice development and implementation in a corporate setting.

Hands-on experience conducting supply chain risk assessments, supplier engagement, and corrective action management.

Experience working with suppliers in high-risk regions or categories.

Familiarity with the RBA Code of Conduct and VAP audit protocols.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proven strong executive communication skills.

Masters in human rights, sustainability, international affairs, public policy, or related field.

Experience in IT, electronics, or manufacturing supply chains.

Knowledge of customer sustainability platforms, audit schemes, ecolabel criteria, disclosure drafting and publication.
