Job summary

Munich Re Retakaful, based in Kuala Lumpur, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the valuation team. You will support experience studies, Solvency II/IFRS reporting and model conversions using AXIS, while coordinating with regional teams and clients.

The role requires 8–10 years of actuarial experience, a degree in actuarial science, and progression toward Fellowship. Strong Excel skills and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics with 8 to 10 years of actuarial experience.
• Progressing towards Fellowship with a recognised actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent).
• Strong technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong MS Excel skills; VBA and AXIS knowledge is advantageous.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and complete experience studies via AXIS for treaties/products.
• Support Solvency II, IFRS and Local Statutory reporting.
• Coordinate experience monitoring and treaty performance analyses.
• Manage AXIS model conversions for selected treaties.
• Maintain valuation data, models and documentation; ensure accurate setup and reporting.
• Collaborate with team, cedants and client managers on performance insights.
• Assist with quarterly closing, bordereaux and statements of accounts where needed.
• Contribute to ad hoc actuarial projects and product development.
