Job summary

Xplor Technologies in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive to oversee the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for APAC entities. You will work closely with AP, AR, Treasury, and other finance stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely reporting and strong controls.

You will mentor two GL staff, coordinate external audits, and support tax compliance and consolidation activities across multiple jurisdictions, driving process improvements and governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting and financial reporting experience including GL management and month-end close.
  • Experience across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions in APAC.
  • Experience with SST/GST/VAT filings and corporate income tax reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the General Ledger function across APAC entities with timely recording of transactions.
  • Review journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations; manage month, quarter, year-end closes.
  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and reporting packs.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure strong financial controls across GL processes.
  • Lead a team of two GL Executives and develop staff.

Job Description

Join our Ezypay team as Senior Accounts Executive in Kuala Lumpur to make a real impact every day. This role sits within our growing payments business. With Ezypay now part of Xplor Technologies, we're integrating world-class subscription management and embedded payments capabilities into our platform, and there's meaningful work ahead.

You will help us maintain accurate and compliant financial operations across the group while supporting strong management decision-making through quality reporting and analysis.

General Ledger & Financial Reporting
  • Lead and oversee the General Ledger (GL) function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions across multiple APAC entities.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are met across all assigned entities.
  • Prepare and review monthly management reports, financial statements, and reporting packs.
  • Perform financial analysis and budget variance reviews, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Treasury teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records, timely resolution of reconciling items, and effective cash flow management
Group Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare consolidated sub-group reporting submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for multiple legal entities across the APAC region
  • Oversee SST, GST, and VAT filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare corporate income tax reporting and compliance requirements across APAC region.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and accounting records across all assigned entities.
Audit, Controls & Financial Governance
  • Coordinate external audits, including preparation and review of supporting schedules and audit documentation.
  • Review reports and reconciliations required by payment acquirers, banking partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across all GL processes and legal entities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and governance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to financial reporting and month-end close activities.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two GL Executives, providing ongoing guidance and performance support.
  • Allocate workloads, monitor deliverables, and ensure the team consistently meets reporting deadlines.
  • Review team outputs for accuracy and quality before submission.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key liaison between the GL function and AP, AR, Treasury, Payroll, and other business stakeholders to support month-end close activities, audit requirements, process improvements, and broader business objectives
  • Support ad hoc financial projects, system implementations, and business initiatives as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience, including experience in General Ledger management and month-end close processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial reporting and accounting activities across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions within the APAC region
  • Strong understanding of intercompany accounting, foreign currency accounting, multi-entity consolidations, and regional reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits, including corporate income tax reporting and compliance activities.
  • Hands-on experience with SST/GST/VAT filing requirements across multiple reporting cycles and jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring finance team members, including workload planning, review, and development responsibilities.
  • Experience preparing consolidated group reporting submissions and financial analyses.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and other finance functions.
  • Experience with Netsuite Financials is preferred;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills with a high level of attention to detail.
