Job summary

Edelman Malaysia is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage financial records, month‑end close, statutory reporting and audit coordination. You will support tax compliance (SST, WHT, corporate tax) and ensure internal controls while partnering with business units to drive performance.

The role requires strong Excel skills, English fluency and the ability to communicate with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field; professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience in multinational or professional services.
• Full‑set accounting knowledge with month‑end/year‑end close experience.
• Experience in statutory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and external audit coordination.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax incl. SST, corporate tax, WHT, stamp duty.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly revenue assessment, project accounting and profitability analysis.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly/year-end close, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards and tax reporting.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate audits with external auditors.
• Support regional and global reporting packages and ad hoc analyses.
• Partner with stakeholders to support operational and financial objectives.
