Job summary

FOO YET KAI & SONS SDN BHD is seeking an experienced accountant in Ipoh to handle the full set of accounts and ensure timely financial transaction records. You will prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules, and manage AP/AR and GL activities.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, audit liaison, tax matters, cash flow monitoring and budgeting support. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in handling full set of accounts is an advantage.
• Proficient in bank reconciliation, AP/AR, GL, accruals and depreciation.
• Familiar with audit and tax matters and liaising with auditors/tax agents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor receivables/payables.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments and depreciation schedules.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Liaise with tax agents and assist with corporate tax matters and filings.
• Assist with SST and LHDN-related matters where applicable.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with payment processing.
• Review accounting records for compliance with policies and standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Supervise junior accounting staff where required.
