Job summary

Malakoff Radiance Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malakoff Corporation Berhad, seeks an experienced Section Head for Operations & Maintenance (Rooftop Solar) to lead the O&M function for rooftop PV and BESS assets across Malaysia. You will drive asset performance, safety, and reliability while building high-performing technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years in Solar PV O&M, renewable energy or power generation.
• Minimum 3 years in leadership or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the O&M of rooftop Solar PV and BESS portfolio ensuring performance, reliability, and availability.
• Develop and implement O&M strategies, maintenance programmes and operational plans.
• Monitor plant performance through SCADA and remote monitoring systems; analyse data and drive improvements.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; manage faults and issues.
• Manage contractors, service providers and OEMs to ensure quality, safety and cost‑effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Mentor and develop the O&M team; foster culture of excellence and learning.
• Prepare operational reports, maintenance performance reviews, and asset reliability analyses.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operations and maintenance of the company’s rooftop Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio, ensuring optimum asset performance, reliability, and availability.
• Develop and implement O&M strategies, maintenance programmes, and operational plans to maximise energy generation and ensure contractual compliance.
• Monitor plant performance through remote monitoring and SCADA systems, analyse operational data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise system efficiency.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring timely resolution of equipment faults and operational issues.
• Manage the performance of contractors, service providers, and OEMs to ensure quality, safety, cost effectiveness, and timely delivery of maintenance services.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements, Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations, health, safety and environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the O&M team by fostering a culture of operational excellence, safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Prepare operational reports, maintenance performance reviews, budgets, and asset reliability analysis for management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Support the commissioning, acceptance, and operational readiness of new rooftop solar and energy storage projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Solar PV Operations & Maintenance, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong experience managing Commercial and Industrial (C&I) rooftop solar assets. Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of Solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, SCADA, remote monitoring platforms, and energy performance analysis.
• Familiarity with Malaysian electrical regulations, Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, and health, safety and environmental standards.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites across Malaysia as required.
