Job summary

Systems Limited - APAC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks an experienced backend developer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side services using Node.js and Express.js. You will work with MongoDB and SQL databases, implement secure APIs with JWT/OAuth and RBAC, and collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js.
• Experience with MongoDB and/or SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of JWT, OAuth, and role-based access control.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Experience with unit testing (Jest, Mocha, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services & RESTful APIs using Node.js & Express.js.
• Build scalable and high-availability server-side applications.
• Integrate third-party services and external APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Debug and resolve production issues.
• Write clean, reusable, testable, and well-documented code.
