Job summary

Horizontal Talent in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to shape scalable systems. You will work in small cross‑functional teams to develop, deploy and test Node.js micro‑services and collaborate with fellow engineers.

Required: strong server‑side JavaScript (Node.js), NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra/Elasticsearch), in‑memory stores (Redis), Linux, HTTP, Git, and unit testing. English fluency is essential; TypeScript and Agile experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with server-side JavaScript (Node.js)
• Experience using NoSQL databases (MongoDB / Cassandra / Elasticsearch)
• Experience with in-memory stores (Redis / MemCache)
• Strong Linux knowledge
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocol
• Proficient with Git
• Experience writing unit tests
• Good command of English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Participate in brainstorming sessions about software development and architecture
• Develop, deploy and test Node.js-based microservices from requirements
• Participate in code reviews of other developers
• Provide support for developers and end-users
• Collaborate on server-side JavaScript projects
• Work with NoSQL databases and in-memory stores
• Ensure robust testing and quality via unit tests
