Job summary

Tentacle Technologies Malaysia is seeking an experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) Consultant to support a manufacturing-focused SAP environment. You will design, configure and support PP processes, integrating with MM/QM/SD and other modules within SAP S/4HANA.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP Production Planning (SAP PP) Consultant to support a manufacturing-focused SAP environment.
The consultant will be responsible for SAP PP functional design, configuration, implementation, enhancement and production support activities, working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, business users and cross-functional SAP teams.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SAP PP within manufacturing environments, preferably with exposure to SAP S/4HANA and integration with other SAP modules.

Responsibilities

Work closely with manufacturing and business stakeholders to understand production-planning requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.

Configure and maintain SAP PP functionality according to approved business processes and functional requirements.

Support MRP execution, production scheduling, capacity planning, production orders and shop-floor processes.

Configure and support master data including BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions and planning parameters.

Analyse existing business processes and recommend improvements using standard SAP functionality wherever possible.

Prepare Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specifications, configuration documents, process flows and test scenarios.

Coordinate with SAP MM, QM, SD, EWM, FI/CO, ABAP and integration teams for cross-functional requirements.

Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution and business-user validation.

Support data migration, cutover, go-live and post-production hypercare activities.

Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and provide timely resolution for PP-related issues.

Support integration between SAP and external systems such as MES, shop-floor applications, warehouse systems and production equipment interfaces.

Review custom developments and work with ABAP developers on reports, enhancements, interfaces, forms and workflows.

Support SAP change requests, enhancements, patches, releases and system-upgrade activities.

Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and provide functional guidance to business users and support teams.

Ensure solutions follow SAP best practices, client standards, governance and change-management procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum 5–15 years of SAP experience, with strong hands-on expertise in SAP Production Planning (PP).

Strong experience in configuring and supporting SAP PP processes including Demand Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Production Orders, Planned Orders and Capacity Planning.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing master data including Bill of Materials (BOM), Routing, Work Centers, Production Versions and Material Master.

Experience supporting Discrete Manufacturing, Repetitive Manufacturing and Make-to-Stock / Make-to-Order production scenarios.

Good understanding of end-to-end manufacturing processes including production planning, shop-floor execution, material consumption, production confirmation and finished-goods receipt.

Experience with SAP S/4HANA PP implementation, migration, rollout, enhancement or support projects is highly preferred.

Strong integration knowledge between SAP PP and modules such as MM, QM, SD, WM/EWM, FI/CO and Plant Maintenance.

Experience integrating SAP with MES, shop-floor systems, warehouse systems and other manufacturing applications will be an advantage.

Experience in requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, configuration, testing, deployment and production support.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate complex manufacturing and production-planning issues.

At least 5 years of relevant SAP PP experience.

At least one end-to-end SAP implementation, rollout, migration or major enhancement project.

Strong manufacturing-domain knowledge.

Ability to work independently from offshore India while coordinating with Malaysia-based business and project teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to participate in meetings aligned with Malaysia working hours when required.

Strong problem-solving and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Senior candidates (10–15 years): preference for candidates who can additionally lead SAP PP solution design and architecture.

Senior candidates: conduct business workshops and process-design sessions.

Senior candidates: own PP functional workstreams.

Senior candidates: lead fit-gap analysis and solution design.

Senior candidates: review functional specifications and solution designs.

Senior candidates: mentor junior and mid-level SAP consultants.
