Job summary

Westernacher Consulting GmbH is seeking an experienced SAP Fico Consultant to lead strategic transformation programs across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia.

You will work with AMS incidents, collaborate with the India development team, design ABAP solutions, and ensure smooth transports and releases while upholding clean core principles.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands on ABAP development, including 2 years on S/4HANA.
• Proven AMS or production support experience with P1 incidents.
• Hands on ABAP on HANA: Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, OData services.
• Familiar with S/4HANA Public Cloud extensibility: ABAP Cloud, RAP, APIs, Eclipse ADT.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main technical contact for AMS accounts, owning P1 and P2 incidents within SLAs.
• Coordinate with the Westernacher India development team, reviewing work and providing backup cover.
• Perform root cause analysis and document fixes, workarounds and known errors.
• Manage transports and releases following customer change management processes.

Job description

As we continue to strengthen our team in Southeast Asia, we are seeking an experienced SAP Fico Consultant to lead strategic transformation programs and drive successful project delivery across local, regional, and global engagements.

How you will make an impact:

AMS support (primary focus)

• Act as the main technical contact for AMS accounts, owning P1 and P2 technical incidents within agreed SLAs
• Work with functional consultants to analyse and resolve issues: debugging, short dumps (ST22), job failures, IDoc and interface errors, performance problems
• Coordinate with the Westernacher India development team, assigning and reviewing work and providing backup cover so critical tickets are never left unattended
• Perform root cause analysis and document fixes, workarounds and known errors
• Participate in an on call or standby rota for critical incidents

Change requests and enhancements

• Estimate, design, build and unit test ABAP solutions for CRs
• Prepare technical specifications and support functional consultants during testing and cutover
• Manage transports and releases following customer change management processes

Platform coverage

• S/4HANA Private Cloud: classic and modern ABAP (reports, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, forms, interfaces, CDS views, OData)
• S/4HANA Public Cloud: developer extensibility (ABAP Cloud, RAP, released APIs), key user extensibility, and side by side extensions on SAP BTP where needed
• Apply the clean core principles so customers remain upgrade safe

Your Expertise:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of hands on ABAP development, including at least 2 years on S/4HANA
• Proven AMS or production support experience, comfortable handling P1 incidents under time pressure
• Hands on with ABAP on HANA: Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, OData services
• Working knowledge of S/4HANA Public Cloud extensibility: ABAP Cloud, RAP, released APIs, ABAP Development Tools (Eclipse)
• Solid debugging skills and familiarity with core logistics and finance processes (SD, MM, FI), so you can work closely with functional consultants
• Experience with interfaces (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, REST/SOAP APIs)
