Jotun Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam seeks a senior sales leader to drive growth of the Shipping business across Malaysia. You will lead a team, manage key accounts and projects, and develop strategies to strengthen market position and deliver sustainable sales growth.
The role reports to the Senior Sales Manager – Shipping, requires extensive travel across Malaysia, and offers continuous learning, career development, and a supportive culture within a global coatings leader.
Summary: This role is responsible for driving the growth and performance of Jotun’s Shipping business across Malaysia. You will lead a team in managing key customers and projects while developing strategies to strengthen our market position and deliver sustainable sales growth. This role will be based in Shah Alam and reporting to Senior Sales Manager – Shipping.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies and action plans to achieve business objectives, revenue targets and profitability.
Manage and strengthen relationships with key accounts, ship owners, Ship management company, Charterer and other strategic customers within the shipping industry.
Ensure projects and key accounts are actively managed and followed up to deliver customer expectations and sales targets.
Identify new business opportunities, market trends and growth areas to expand Jotun's presence within the Malaysian shipping market.
Monitor market developments, customer needs and competitor activities, translating insights into actionable business strategies.
Lead, coach and develop team members in providing clear direction, targets and performance expectations.
Identify capability gaps and provide appropriate coaching, guidance and development opportunities to strengthen team performance.
Closely monitor and follow up on agreed action plans to ensure business and sales objectives are achieved.
Establish and implement effective sales procedures, processes and reporting to ensure consistency and best practices across the sales team.
Analyse sales performance, customer development and pipeline activities, taking corrective action where required.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of projects, customer commitments and commercial initiatives.
Qualification:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline.
8+ years of relevant sales experience, preferably within the shipping or marine.
Proven experience in managing key accounts and complex sales projects.
Experience in leading, coaching and developing a sales team.
Self-driven, results-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel extensively across Malaysia to support customers and the sales team.
