Job summary

Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, part of Shangri-La Group, seeks a Sales Manager to drive hotel sales and revenue, develop new business, and sustain strong client relationships while meeting targets and delivering exceptional service.

The role requires 3–5 years in luxury hotel sales, strong knowledge of corporate, leisure, and MICE markets, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Local market familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 3–5 years of sales experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, MICE, leisure, and/or travel trade markets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify revenue opportunities.
• Professional appearance and genuine passion for luxury hospitality.
• Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates for management.
• Work closely with Revenue Management, Reservations, Events, Front Office, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities.
