DigitPay is seeking a Sales Manager in Malaysia to build the sales function from the ground up. You will recruit and coach a team, own merchant acquisition targets, and ensure every signed merchant aligns with long-term value.
This role reports to the CEO/COO/MD and requires close collaboration with the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in B2B sales, 2+ years leading a team, and a track record of hitting targets in fintech, payments, POS, or SME SaaS.
Company: DigitPay
Location: Malaysia (on-site/field-based)
Reports to: CEO, COO / Managing Director
Works closely with: Operations Manager (Malaysia)
DigitPay is building the Financial Operating System for SMEs across Asia-Pacific — one integrated platform to move, manage, and grow money, instead of the fragmented mess of providers most business owners piece together today. We started with payments and POS, and we're now expanding into FX, payouts, wallets, and card issuing. Malaysia is our next market, and trust is what we're building it on. Not marketing trust — earned trust, through execution.
We're looking for a Sales Manager to lead DigitPay's Malaysia sales function from the ground up. This person will build the sales team, own merchant acquisition targets for the region, and make sure every merchant relationship we sign is one we can stand behind five years from now. You'll work closely with the Operations Manager to keep the sales-to-onboarding pipeline clean, and report directly into the CEO, COO, and Managing Director.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sell fast and move on. We're looking for someone who understands that how a merchant is sold matters as much as whether they're sold.
Build, lead, and coach a team of Sales Representatives to hit outlet acquisition and revenue targets
Own the Malaysia sales pipeline — forecasting, deal reviews, and CRM discipline
Develop and execute Malaysia go-to-market strategy, starting with F&B and retail SMEs
Personally manage key merchant accounts and partnership discussions
Set pricing and commercial terms within approved guardrails; escape exceptions rather than improvise
Work directly with the Operations Manager on KYC/KYB onboarding follow-up, sales SOP/CRM governance, and clean lead handoff, so the sales cycle stays fully visible to management
Report performance, pipeline health, and market feedback to the CEO, COO, and Managing Director
Represent DigitPay at merchant meetings, POS/payments demos, and industry events
Identify and develop channel or referral partnerships that scale acquisition without compromising deal quality
5+ years in B2B sales, with 2+ years leading a sales team
Experience in fintech, payments, POS, or SME-focused SaaS strongly preferred
A track record of hitting targets — and building teams that hit theirs
Strong grasp of the Malaysian SME/F&B/retail merchant landscape
Comfortable with consultative, question-led selling (we use NEPQ internally — prior exposure is a plus)
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus
Willing to travel across Malaysia for merchant visits and demos
Base salary plus performance-based commission on team and individual targets
Final package to be aligned with DigitPay's Malaysia compensation bands
