Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Sales and Proposal Engineer to manage commercial and technical aspects of client tenders and budget proposals, including subcontracts and supplier proposals.

The role requires engineering knowledge, a proactive approach, and the ability to travel as needed while maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in proposal or tendering.

Job description

Sales and Proposal Engineer responsible for managing commercial and technical aspects of allocated client tenders and budget proposals, including associated subcontracts and supplier proposals in accordance with company processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

Manage all commercial and technical aspects of allocated client tenders and budget proposals including all associated subcontracts and supplier proposals

Utilize solution skills to lead and identify opportunities based on customer insight

Achieve sales targets, sustain revenue growth and provide recommendations to enhance account growth and revenue potential

Explore, identify and develop new market opportunities for customers

Provide technical expertise in analyzing customer requirements, recommending solutions, and assisting with development of proposals, quotations, and presentations

Secure orders by negotiating and following up closely with clients/end users with daily updates

Ensure all tenders/RFQs quoted are closed and provide updates on bid status

Collaborate with team members to achieve better results

Liaise directly with suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, factories and principals regarding products

About you

Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, any engineering field or related field

Minimum 2 or 3 years' experience in proposal or tendering field

Able to learn with minimum supervision

Computer literacy (at least good in MS Office and AutoCAD)

Proactive personality, willing to learn, business acumen, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, sales, and customer service skills

Own a car and able to travel as and when necessary

Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
