Job summary

Randstad Malaysia in Johor Bahru is seeking a senior Risk & Compliance leader to oversee regulatory compliance, licensing, and safety across mall operations. You will drive audits, fire safety, crisis management, and vendor oversight to reduce risk and ensure regulatory alignment.

The role requires 8+ years in risk/compliance with a managerial background, plus hands-on FCC operations and incident reporting experience. A Bachelor or Master in OH&S or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in risk/compliance within retail or related sectors, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Hands-on experience in Fire Command Centre (FCC) operations, security vendor management, insurance claims, and incident reporting.
• Proven ability to manage crisis response, fire safety drills, system testing, and internal fraud/ethics investigations.
• Experience in long-term strategic planning, departmental budget management, and goal setting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Licensing: Ensure full compliance with local laws, permits, and operational regulations across all mall functions.
• Audits & Authority Inspections: Conduct internal checks, manage authority inspections, track corrective actions, and elevate unresolved high-risk issues.
• Fire Safety Management: Serve as the certified Fire Safety Manager (Act 341), ensuring BOMBA standards and equipment are fully maintained.
• Safety, Security & Crisis Operations: Manage daily security operations, emergency readiness, systems (CCTV, FCC), and insurance claim investigations.
• Risk Management & Reporting: Lead risk workshops, analyze incident trends, and maintain risk dashboards for management decision-making.
• Training & SOPs: Deliver compliance and safety training to staff to build on-ground operational capability.
• People & Vendor Management: Supervise the Safety Executive and manage outsourced security vendor performance and SLAs.
