Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad is seeking a qualified Health & Safety Officer to oversee safety and hygiene practices at our Penang construction site. The role involves developing and implementing safety policies, liaising with authorities, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will conduct safety inductions, identify high‑risk areas, mitigate hazards, and assist with incident investigations and regulatory duties as required. This position is based at Penang and requires a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Competent Safety & Health Officer registered with DOSH.
• Bachelor's/ Diploma in Safety, Health & Environment or related field.
• Minimum 6 years working experience at construction site.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule and be stationed at Penang.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance on safety and hygiene practices at construction sites.
• Develop and implement project safety and health policies.
• Liaise with safety enforcement authorities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and authority requirements.
• Submit a monthly occupational health and safety report to the Project Manager.

Job description

Provide advice, guidance on safety and hygiene practices at construction site.

Responsible for development and implementation of project safety and health policy.

Liaison with relevant safety enforcement authorities.

Responsible for compliance to authority requirement on safety matters.

Submit a monthly report to Project Manager on occupational health and safety at workplace.

Conducting safety induction to all workers at site and instilling safety awareness to all personnel.

To identify high risk area and potential safety hazardous.

Construction sequence and take measures to mitigate the risk.

Assist in the investigation of incidents occurred and submit reports to management where necessary

To assist any officer in carrying out his duties under the Act or any Regulations made under the Act.

Requirements:

Competent Safety & Health Officer registered with DOSH.

Bachelors/ Diploma in Safety & Health and Environment or related field.

Minimum 6 years working experience at construction site.

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Willing to be stationed at Penang.
