Hotel Royal seeks a qualified Safety & Fire Safety Manager to lead the safety, occupational health, and fire safety functions of the property. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Safety & Fire Safety Manager to lead the overall workplace safety, occupational health and fire safety functions of the property. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for employees, guests, contractors and visitors, while ensuring compliance with applicable Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM/BOMBA) requirements and company safety standards. The role will also oversee the property's Fire Safety Organisation (OKK) and coordinate fire prevention, emergency preparedness and response activities.
Act as the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and oversee the implementation of the property's fire safety programme.
Ensure compliance with the Fire Services Act 1988 (Act 341) and applicable JBPM/BOMBA requirements.
Manage and coordinate the Fire Safety Organisation (OKK).
Supervise and coordinate Fire Safety Officers and emergency response personnel.
Conduct regular fire safety inspections and identify fire hazards and risks.
Monitor the readiness and condition of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, emergency exits and related systems.
Plan, coordinate and conduct regular fire drills and evacuation exercises.
Maintain fire safety records, inspection reports, drill reports and training documentation.
Liaise with JBPM/BOMBA on fire safety inspections, compliance matters and corrective actions.
Ensure findings from BOMBA inspections and internal audits are properly followed up and closed.
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Management, Engineering, Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
JBPM/BOMBA-recognised Fire Safety Manager (FSM) competency/certification is required, where applicable to the premises.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in safety management, fire safety, engineering, facilities management or a related field.
Experience in hotel/hospitality, commercial buildings, high-rise properties or other designated premises is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of fire safety, emergency response, workplace safety and risk management.
Good leadership, communication, report-writing and problem-solving skills.
Able to lead safety training, inspections, audits and emergency drills.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple departments.
Willing to respond to emergencies and perform duties outside normal working hours when required.
