Job summary

Hirehub Group is recruiting a Safety Engineer to safeguard a manufacturing environment in Malaysia. You will develop and maintain the Occupational Safety and Health Management System, perform risk assessments, manage safety programs, and drive regulatory compliance across the plant.

You will lead incident investigations, deliver training, and coordinate emergency planning while collaborating with operations to embed safety in all projects and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (Green Book) with DOSH Malaysia is an advantage
• Professional certifications such as ISO 45001 Internal Auditor, Certified Risk Assessor, Certified Ergonomics Assessor, First Aider, or Fire Warden certification will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of safety, health, and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in metal fabrication, assembly operations, machinery manufacturing, construction, heavy industry, HVAC equipment, cooling towers, or similar industrial operations will be highly advantageous.
• Experience interfacing with regulatory authorities, managing contractors, conducting safety audits, and leading incident investigations is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the plant's Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRARC studies, and job safety analyses to identify hazards.
• Establish safety programs for machine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and more.
• Coordinate workplace inspections, safety audits, and track findings to closure.
• Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses with root cause analysis.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, supervisors, and visitors.
• Monitor compliance with DOSH, BOMBA, local authorities, and insurers; act as regulatory contact.
• Establish emergency response plans and coordinate drills across the facility.
• Support health programs including noise monitoring, health surveillance, and industrial hygiene.
• Collect and report EHS performance metrics to drive safety improvements.
• Participate in plant improvement projects to embed safety in design and execution.
• Perform other duties that support plant safety and business objectives.
