Job summary

Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Pekan Nanas, Pontian, Johor, Malaysia, seeks an OSH Coordinator to implement and maintain the HSE management system, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Malaysian OSHA.

The ideal candidate holds a DOSH-registered OSH Coordinator certificate and has at least two years of manufacturing or engineering experience. You will lead inspections, training, incident investigations, and liaise with DOSH and DOE.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Valid OSHC Certificate registered with DOSH.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HSE-related role.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian OSHA 1994 and related regulations.
  • ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s HSE management system and policies.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA).
  • Organize and deliver HSE training sessions (induction, toolbox talks, environmental awareness).
  • Lead investigations of safety incidents and environmental events; perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act, and related regulations; maintain records and documents.
  • Monitor waste segregation, storage, and disposal; promote energy conservation and recycling.
  • Serve as primary contact for HSE with authorities, clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Job Summary

The OSH Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system, conducting risk assessments and site inspections, and ensuring full compliance with Malaysian OSHA and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate must hold a valid DOSH-registered OSH Coordinator certificate and have at least 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, construction, or engineering industries.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system and policies, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA) to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards, and propose effective preventive and corrective actions.

Organize and deliver various HSE training sessions, including induction training, toolbox talks, and specific safety and environmental awareness programs to enhance overall safety culture and environmental responsibility.

Lead or assist in investigating all safety incidents, environmental pollution events, and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, and submit detailed reports; participate in the development and drills of emergency response plans.

Ensure all operational activities comply with the Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994), Environmental Quality Act, and other relevant local regulations; maintain and update all HSE documents, permits, training records, and inspection reports.

Monitor waste segregation, storage, and disposal processes; promote energy conservation, emission reduction, and resource recycling to minimize the environmental impact of operations.

Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE matters between the company and government authorities (e.g., DOSH, JKKP, DOE), clients, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.

Job Requirements

Minimum Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Must possess a valid Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSHC) Certificate registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.

Minimum of 2 years of working experience in an HSE-related role, preferably within the manufacturing, construction, or engineering industry.

In-depth knowledge of Malaysian OSHA 1994, related regulations, and DOSH requirements.

Familiarity with HIRARC, incident investigation, emergency response procedures, and environmental management practices.

Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems is an added advantage.

Preferred Soft Skill

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training facilitation skills.

Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Detail-oriented, proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and perform tasks effectively under pressure.

Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred to facilitate effective communication with local and Chinese-speaking management and subcontractors.
