We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety and Health Officer (SHO) to support our project in Pengerang, Johor. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment, monitoring site safety compliance, and ensuring that project activities adhere to applicable occupational safety and health requirements.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health legislation, regulations, company policies, and project safety requirements.

Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices.

Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to minimise workplace risks.

Conduct or coordinate safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety awareness activities for site personnel.

Monitor the implementation of safe work procedures, risk assessments, and relevant safety documentation.

Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare reports with recommendations for improvement.

Coordinate with project management, supervisors, contractors, and workers on safety-related matters.

Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.

Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with site safety rules.

Support safety audits, emergency preparedness activities, and other occupational safety and health initiatives.

About you

Minimum Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Must be a DOSH-registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with a valid Green Book.

Basic knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation, OSHA requirements, FMA, and site safety practices.

Relevant experience in construction, oil and gas, industrial, or project environments is an advantage.

Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams.

Responsible, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.

Must be willing to work on-site in Pengerang, Johor.

Able to commence work immediately or as required by the project.
