Job summary

MIROS in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Road Safety Surveillance Coordinator (Consultant) to join the BIGRS initiative, embedded with government partners and the academic sector. This on-site role focuses on data-driven road safety surveillance at city and national levels to support policy and planning.

The role demands a Master’s Degree and 5+ years in data management/analysis, with tools like Power BI and Excel, GIS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field (public health, transport, data science, or similar).
• At least five years of experience in data management and analysis related to public health, transportation, urban development, or policy.
• Experience with data analysis software (Excel, Power BI) and exposure to AI-enabled or automation platforms.
• GIS proficiency preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support embedded team to deliver road injury data surveillance at city and national levels.
• Coordinate surveillance activities between initiative partners and government counterparts (Police, Health, Transport, Road Safety, Civil Registry, hospitals).
• Strengthen crash data collection and management through research, forms review, and policy documents; conduct site visits.
• Lead data improvement activities including drafting policy instruments, capacity-building, and system scaling.
• Assist data collection, entry, cleaning, data linkage, analysis, and use.
• Prepare road safety reports and analyses, including ad hoc reports and summary statistics; disseminate findings.
