Job summary

Zurich Insurance Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks a Risk Surveyor to perform risk assessments on general insurance risks and to prepare written reports detailing findings and recommended risk improvement measures.

You will provide technical advice on safety management, loss control including fire protection and security systems, and ensure timely completion of assignments while pursuing ongoing professional development within Zurich guidelines.

• Must be able to assess general insurance risks including property fire and burglary.
• Proficient in evaluating loss potential (EML, PML) per defined standards.
• Experience in risk reporting and providing risk improvement recommendations.

• Prepare rating applications for submission to PIAM and similar bodies.
• Conduct 3-Year Review assessments for Self-Rating and Special-Rating risks.
• Provide risk improvement advice and ensure timely follow-up per ZRE guidelines.
• Complete all assignments within the required time frame.
• Continuously enhance risk engineering knowledge and soft skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
Perform risk assessment on general insurance risks and to provide written reports on the findings. To recommend to clients on risk improvement measures and provide technical advice on safety management, loss control including process control, fire protection and security systems, where necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assess the quality of general insurance risks namely property fire & burglary.
• Assess loss potential (EML, PML) in accordance with agreed definitions.
• Prepare special rating applications for submission to PIAM.
• Conduct 3-Year Review assessments for Self-Rating and Special-Rating risks.
• Provide risk improvement advice (RIA) and issuing them in a timely manner and perform the necessary follow-up and status review in accordance to ZRE guidelines.
• Complete all of these assignments within the stipulated time frame.
• Continuously learn and improve technical knowledge in risk engineering and soft skills through own initiatives and formal training for capability level upgrade
• Preferable minimum of three years experience as a Risk Surveyor in the insurance industry
