Job summary

Amos in Malaysia is seeking a Rigger & Signalman to support safe and efficient lifting operations in yard and field environments. You will perform rigging, slinging, and signaling in line with approved lifting plans and IMS guidelines, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency.

The role requires coordinating with crane operators and ground personnel, maintaining equipment readiness, and contributing to overall yard productivity and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Rigging, slinging and signaling per lifting plans.
• Knowledge of safe lifting operations and PPE usage.
• Awareness of IMS standards (Quality, Safety & Environment).

Responsibilities

• Perform rigging, slinging, and signaling per lifting plans.
• Ensure proper selection and usage of lifting gear (slings, shackles, hooks).
• Communicate with crane operators using standard hand signals.
• Assist in load positioning, balancing, and safe lifting execution.
• Support material handling, loading, unloading and internal movement.
• Prepare lifting setups and maintain operational readiness.
• Keep yard organized and maintain 5S cleanliness.
• Follow HSE policies and use PPE at all times.
• Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions and near-misses.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Inspect lifting equipment for defects prior to use.
• Store lifting gear properly after use.
• Report defective equipment immediately.
• Coordinate with Supervisor to meet daily targets.
• Follow instructions and support execution plans.
• Assist other departments when required.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned; support urgent requirements.

The Rigger & Signalman is responsible for supporting safe and efficient lifting operations within yard and operational environments. This role executes rigging, slinging, and signaling activities in accordance with approved lifting plans, HSE requirements, and operational procedures, while contributing to overall yard productivity and operational readiness.

The position is critical in ensuring:

• Safe execution of lifting operations
• Proper coordination between crane operators and ground personnel
• Compliance with IMS standards (Quality, Safety & Environmental)
• Operational efficiency and delivery targets

Responsibilities

1. Lifting & Rigging Operations

• Perform rigging, slinging, and signaling activities in accordance with approved lifting plans
• Ensure proper selection and usage of lifting gear (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.)
• Communicate effectively with crane operators using standard hand signals
• Assist in load positioning, balancing, and safe lifting execution

2. Yard & Operational Support

• Support material handling, loading, unloading, and internal movement
• Assist in preparation of lifting setups and operational readiness
• Maintain proper yard arrangement and housekeeping (5S implementation)

3. Safety & IMS Compliance (ISO 45001 / 9001 / 14001)

• Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and work instructions
• Ensure proper use of PPE at all times
• Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents
• Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings
• Conduct basic visual inspection of lifting equipment before use
• Identify defects such as wear, deformation, cracks, or corrosion
• Ensure proper storage and handling of lifting gear after use
• Report any defective equipment immediately

5. Team Coordination & Execution

• Work closely with Supervisor and team members to achieve daily targets
• Follow operational instructions and support execution plans
• Assist other departments when required (Production / Warehouse / TS)

6. General Duties

• Perform any other operational tasks assigned by Supervisor or Management
• Support urgent or ad-hoc operational requirements
