Job summary

City University Malaysia is seeking a friendly Sales Assistant for our Merchandise Department to support daily retail operations, assist customers, and drive store sales while ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and displayed.

You will welcome customers, provide product information, process transactions with the POS, and help with stock management and promotions. Fresh graduates are welcome, especially with an interest in sales and campus events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field.
• Fresh graduates welcome, especially with interest in sales.
• 1–3 years of experience in sales, retail, marketing or customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail in handling transactions and inventory.
• Willing to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Comfortable with POS systems and basic Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide accurate product information, recommendations, and assistance based on customer needs.
• Achieve individual and store sales targets and contribute to overall sales performance.
• Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
• Replenish stock and ensure products are properly displayed, priced, and organized.
• Assist with stock receiving, stock counting, inventory checking, and general stock management.
• Monitor product availability and highlight low-stock or fast-moving items to the relevant team.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Support promotional campaigns, events, and marketing activities to drive product awareness and sales.
