Job summary

Muji Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate in Penang to support daily sales and store operations. You will greet customers, provide product information, and ensure shelves are well-stocked and orderly while adhering to safety standards.

Daily tasks include stock reception, tagging, replenishment, and assisting at the checkout when required. A positive attitude and good teamwork are essential to maintain Muji’s service standards.

Qualifications

• SPM qualification with 1-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Positive and passionate about the retail industry.
• Enjoy interacting with customers and have an eye for detail.
• Articulate and outgoing.
• Result oriented and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales budget.
• Assist in carrying out the weekly sales action plan at assigned areas or departments.
• Provide product information and service to customers pro-actively.
• Greet and assist customers on the sales floor attentively.
• Assist in receiving, counting stocks, tagging and labeling.
• Monitor and check goods with expiry dates (Health & Beauty / Food).
• Do daily/weekly housekeeping and maintain display of stock.
• Tag sensor tags for garments and report stock movement.
• Provide feedback on fast and slow moving stock to improve availability.
• Ensure safety standards are followed and work area is clean.
• Perform daily stock replenishment and assist cashier at checkout when needed.
• Report any price discrepancies and understand extended services (Home delivery & Alteration).
• Demonstrate Muji service standards and provide efficient service to customers.
• Gather customer feedback and suggest improvements to supervisors.
• Ensure stock is FIFO and discrepancies with the system are reported.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain the work area by adhering to the safety standards as required

• Responsible in the reporting of price error
• Equipped with the knowledge of the extended services and fees involved (Home delivery & Alteration)
• Demonstrate appropriate customer service skills as according to the Muji standard
• Provide effective and efficient service to assist the customers of all aspects
• Gather feedback from customer and suggest improvement for the areas to the superior
• Ensure stock sold by first in first out to avoid an increase of aging merchandise
• Report on any discrepancy of stock holding against the system
• Ensure all available stock are being displayed
