Job summary

Holiday Villa Resort & Beachclub Langkawi is seeking a vigilant security associate to support daily hotel operations and protect guests, staff, and property. You will attend briefings, monitor access points, and enforce safety procedures across lobby, staff areas and car parks.

Responsibilities include timekeeping, issuing passes, reporting incidents, and ensuring compliance with uniform and nametag policies while maintaining discretion and professionalism on site.

Responsibilities

• Attend roll calls and briefings at assigned time.
• Always smartly dressed in clean uniforms as prescribed by the hotel when on duty.
• To follow instructions and carry out assignments given by supervisor satisfactorily.
• When assigned to the lobby area, ensure that place is secure and that all hotel and guests’ property is safe and secure. Check to ensure that only authorised cars are parked at the driveway leading to the hotel. All other motor vehicles should be directed to the assigned car park.
• When assigned to the staff exit/entrance areas, check all staff entering or leaving the hotel for illegal weapons, drugs and hotel property. To report to the Management all incidence whereby staff are found to be taking in illegal weapons and drugs or taking out hotel property without written permission from the General Manager.
• To spot check staff lockers and changing rooms.
• In the event of fire to sound the alarm and take necessary action to extinguish the fire.
• Must know the location of all first aid and fire-fighting equipment.
• Report to the supervisor any suspicious or unusual happening.
• Detain any suspicious or disorderly persons and hand over to the proper authorities.
• To spot check staff cafeteria at regular intervals or as instructed by supervisor and report to the supervisor any staff loitering in the area.
• Conduct daily checks of staff belongings and transportation after clocking out to prevent theft or unauthorized removal of resort property, while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
• Shall not smoke while on duty.
• Check to ensure that all stores, office or outlets are securely locked after office or operational hours.
• Check all emergency exits to ensure they are properly closed and free of obstructions.
• To spot check off duty staff, patrol car parks and hotel complex.
• If assigned on timekeeping duties, to punch timecard for all employees of the hotel.
• To issue temporary security pass to all trade visitors.
• To issue the relevant passes only if the proper written permission has been obtained from the approving authorities.
• When staff reports for duty, ensure that they are wearing their nametags and in their proper uniforms. Record names of staff not wearing nametags or not wearing proper uniforms.
• Record names of staff reporting late for work and pass to security supervisor for further action.
• Record personal particulars of contract workers in the logbook before issuing them with a security pass.
• When carrying out duties to carry them out objectively and fairly.
• To perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the Security Supervisor, Security Manager, General Manager or the Management of the Hotel.
