Job summary

Advanced Prestige Sdn Bhd (Sutera Harbour Resort) is seeking an Assistant Manager, Engineering to oversee daily engineering operations and ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standards, delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will lead the engineering team, manage preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate contractors, and drive energy efficiency while upholding safety and hospitality requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related field).
• 3-5 years of engineering experience in hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.
• Experience maintaining hotel facilities, building systems, and guest areas.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and hospitality industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and supervising the Engineering Department's daily operations.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are effectively implemented.
• Monitor and maintain all resort facilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors for repair and maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage engineering records, reports, inventories, and maintenance schedules.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and cost-control measures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and operational issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop engineering team members to achieve departmental goals.
