Job summary

ANGO Property Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a seasoned Rooms Division Manager to lead the hotel pre-opening planning and operational readiness in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

You will set up Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering & Maintenance departments and establish the initial structure, staffing, SOPs, and service standards. You will recruit, train, and coach department heads and teams, oversee daily operations to ensure guest satisfaction, safety, and service quality, and coordinate with management,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Rooms Division Management.
• Pre-opening or opening hotel experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing Engineering or Maintenance is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, team-building, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to establish new departments, systems, procedures and service standards.
• Hands-on, organised and able to work in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
• Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.

Requirements

Proven experience in Rooms Division Management, with strong knowledge of Front Office and Housekeeping operations.

Previous hotel pre-opening or opening experience is strongly preferred.

Experience overseeing Engineering or Maintenance operations will be an advantage.

Strong leadership, team-building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Able to establish new departments, systems, procedures, and service standards.

Hands‑on, organised, and capable of working in a fast‑paced pre‑opening environment.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin speaking is an added advantage to deal with Chinese client from China.

Must be willing to be based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Important: This position requires candidates with practical Rooms Division Management experience who can take ownership of the hotel’s pre‑opening setup and operational readiness.
