Job summary

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up and carry out experiments and syntheses per objectives and timelines.
• Record all lab work accurately and analyze data; present findings.
• Maintain lab and pilot plant equipment in good order and calibration.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper operation of testing machines and instruments.
• Provide technical support to sales and marketing as needed.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:-

• To plan, set up & carry out experiments/syntheses according to agreed objectives, scopes, requirements & time frame for specified projects.
• To record all the laboratory works accurately according to the company’s specific procedure/ practice. Compound and analyze the data as well as to present the research work.
• To maintain equipment, pilot plant and laboratories in good order and condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness
• Ensure all testing machine is working properly and calibrated accordingly.
• Familiarize, understand and use all instrument for analysis or process:
  • Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
  • Brookfield Viscometer
  • Moisture analyzer
  • Melt flow index machine
  • Flowtester
  • Optical microscope
  • CILAS shape analyzer
  • Others apparatus – Water bath, heater, overhead /magnetic stirrer, Oven, Air dryer, pump & etc.
• Explore research by reading more related reading materials. Conduct application / verification from reading.
• Fully in charge for lab and pilot scale experiment run. Involve in production scale trial run, provide necessary information, clarification, monitoring and etc.
• To perform any other duties as and when required by the management.
• Provide technical support to sales and marketing department

JOB REQUIREMENT

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, an Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE

• At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Preferably junior executives specializing in Science & Technology/Laboratory preferably in polymer manufacturing industries such as rubber/tyre/printing industry.
• Have background in Paint / Coating industries 1-2 years.
