Job summary

Private Advertiser in Klang Valley seeks a Research Senior Manager to lead and strengthen university–industry collaborations and enhance overall research quality and outputs.

The role requires directing planning, ensuring effective execution of initiatives, and supporting researchers while pursuing grants. Familiarity with Malaysia’s higher education landscape is advantageous; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant research and/or higher education experience.
• Demonstrated research and publication track record.
• Experience in securing or managing research grants.
• Strong leadership and research management capabilities.
• Able to assess existing practices, identify gaps, and implement practical improvements.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the Malaysian higher education and research environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and strengthen existing research activities, processes, and practices.
• Lead research planning and ensure effective execution of research initiatives.
• Drive research grant applications and support researchers in securing funding.
• Strengthen the quality and quantity of research publications and outputs.
• Develop meaningful collaborations with universities, industry, and research organisations.
• Monitor research performance and establish clear, measurable research outcomes.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to researchers and research-related staff.
