Job summary

Network Foods (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, based in Shah Alam, seeks a seasoned Research & Development Manager to lead new product development, formulation, and cost optimization for the confectionery business. You will collaborate with Marketing, Production, Quality, and Procurement to deliver innovative, high-quality products.

The role requires a degree in Food Science or related field and at least five years in R&D/product development, with strong knowledge of formulations, trials, scale-up, and food

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of R&D / Product Development experience, preferably in confectionery or food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food formulation, ingredients, and product development.
• Experience in product trials, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Good understanding of food quality and food safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and project management skills.
• Able to work independently and lead cross-functional projects.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel when required.

Job description

Responsible for leading Research & Development, new product development, formulation, product improvement, and cost optimization activities for the confectionery business of Network Food Industries, a subsidiary of Pet World Group. The role works closely with Marketing, Production, Quality, Procurement, and other departments to develop innovative, high-quality, cost-effective products that meet customer and consumer expectations.

Key responsibilities

Manage new product development and formulation activities

Develop and improve confectionery products and formulations

Conduct product trials, testing, and scale-up

Monitor raw material quality and develop alternative ingredients and suppliers

Drive formulation and cost-saving improvements

Support Production in formulation and process-related issues

Handle customer and consumer technical enquiries

Work with Marketing and Operations on new product projects

Conduct technical evaluation of new products, ingredients, and processes

About you
