Job summary

Siemens Energy in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Requirements Engineer - Solution to own Instrumentation & Control engineering for power plant projects. The role includes hardware and software design, FAT, erection, installation, and commissioning, with periodic site assignments as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a related engineering degree and has hands-on experience with I&C systems, end-to-end project processes, and cross-functional teamwork across international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or a related field.
• Exposure to instrumentation and control systems, ideally within the energy or power generation sector, with hands-on experience in control system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with end-to-end project engineering processes, including basic/detail engineering, FAT, installation, and commissioning, along with an understanding of project management practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Engineer in coordinating with customers and sub-contractors, managing technical aspects, and ensuring compliance with standards and project timelines.

In this role, you'll take ownership of Instrumentation \& Control (I\&C) engineering across power plant projects — from hardware and software design through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), erection, installation, and commissioning. You'll be the specialized know-how owner for the discipline, ensuring every solution is technically sound, cost-effective, and fully compliant with relevant standards and project requirements. This role is primarily office-based, with periodic site assignments as required for FAT and commissioning activities.

• Assess and draft technical realization of project requirements within the I&C discipline, including design documentation Dimension elements, components, or software through calculation or specification, and document required technical proofs
• Act as the specialized know-how owner for the I&C discipline, providing subject-matter expertise to the project team
• Collaborate with specialists across Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil disciplines to coordinate technical interfaces
• Execute hardware and software design, FAT, erection, installation, commissioning, and after-sales services for I&C systems

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or a related field, or equivalent.
• Exposure to instrumentation and control systems, ideally within the energy or power generation sector, with hands‑on experience in control system design, programming, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with end-to‑end project engineering processes, including basic/detail engineering, FAT, installation, and commissioning, along with an understanding of project management practices
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across international project teams, customers, and vendors
• Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to I&C engineering
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with a collaborative approach to cross-discipline coordination and technical problem-solving
