Job summary

Port of Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia is seeking a junior Reliability/Maintenance support technician to assist the Reliability Engineer in overseeing the reliability of operations that affect health and safety of people and the container moving business.

You will contribute to identifying machinery defects, implementing corrective strategies, monitoring HSSE compliance, gathering failure data, and supporting RCA and defect elimination processes to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Reliability and/or MLTII certification is an advantage.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in industrial maintenance operations.
• Obtain basic supervisory skills.
• Ability to prioritize unexpected situations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Reliability Engineer in overseeing the reliability of operations affecting health & safety of people and container moving business.
• Assist in creating and implementing strategies to identify machinery defects and eliminate root causes.
• Monitor and enforce HSSE requirements when carrying out work.
• Keep self and others safe at all times while carrying out duties.
• Eliminate environmental impact on scheduled waste.
• Carry out material disposal according to scheduled waste requirements when applicable.
• Identify equipment failure modes and ensure preventive and condition-monitoring tasks are selected.
• Collect and analyze equipment failure data to track bad actors and dominant failure modes.
• Assist Reliability Engineer on root cause analysis (RCA) or defect elimination processes.

• Responsible in ensuring safety management by;


• Monitor and enforce all HSSE requirements when carrying out work.


• Keep own self and others in safe all times while carry out duties.


• Eliminate environmental impact on schedule waste


• Carry out material disposal according to scheduled waste requirement when applicable.


• Responsible to assist Reliability Engineer to identify Equipment failure modes and the preventive and condition-monitoring appropriate tasks are selected to prevent these failure mode


• Responsible to collect and analyse equipment failure data allows for the tracking of bad actors and identifying dominant failure modes.


• Responsible to assist Reliability Engineer on the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Defect Elimination process

REQUIREMENT

• Diploma or technical certificate or related professional qualifications in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.


• Having Reliability and/or MLTII Certification is an advantage.


• At least 1 - 3 years hands-on experience in industrial maintenance operations.


• Obtain basic supervisory skills


• Ability to priorities the unexpected situations


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
