Job summary

Norman Process Oils Malaysia Plant Sdn Bhd is seeking a reliability engineer to drive plant uptime, improve asset performance, and embed reliability into day-to-day operations. You will analyze data, implement TPM/PM strategies, and collaborate across departments to prevent failures and downtime.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plant reliability or maintenance in chemical or related manufacturing, with strong problem-solving, data analytics, and hands-on maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant reliability/maintenance/ mechanical engineering in chemical or petrochemical plants.
• Analytical thinking and data-driven problem solving.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with TPM/PM and reliability methods.
• Good knowledge of safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
• Ensure plant equipment operates at optimal levels and meets organizational needs.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop preventive solutions.
• Lead maintenance planning, scheduling and shutdown activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with departments to embed reliability across the organization.
• Maintain maintenance documentation per ISO requirements.
• Manage procurement of equipment and spare parts and budget for critical machines.
