Job summary

CapBay Group in Malaysia is seeking a highly motivated legal counsel to support product and process development, financing, technology, and general advisory work. You will join a dynamic Legal team to drive initiatives that align with CapBay’s mission of revolutionizing the financial industry.

The role emphasizes relationship building with distributors, cross-functional collaboration with credit, operations and product teams, and managing external meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field.
• 3–5 years in relationship management or sales with distributor networks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English to manage Chinese-speaking distributors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with 10–15 assigned distributors.
• Act as the main contact for distributor sales teams and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular meetings and site visits to strengthen engagement.
• Identify business opportunities within distributor networks and drive revenue growth.
• Monitor distributor performance and report to management.
• Collaborate with credit, operations, product teams for smooth execution.
• Support onboarding, documentation and issue resolution for distributors.
• Gather market feedback to improve partnership effectiveness.

As a legal counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Legal team by developing and implementing various programs, collaborations, and initiatives related to product and process development, financing, technology, and general legal advisory work. Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Manage and grow relationships with 10–15 assigned distributors.
• Act as the main point of contact for distributor sales teams and key stakeholders.
• Conduct regular meetings and site visits to strengthen engagement and collaboration.
• Identify business opportunities within distributor networks and drive revenue growth.
• Monitor distributor performance and provide timely updates to management.
• Work closely with internal teams (credit, operations, product) to ensure smooth execution.
• Support distributors on onboarding matters, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Gather market feedback and insights to improve overall partnership effectiveness.

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

We are looking for someone who has:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Relationship Manager or Sales Executive.
• Experience managing distributor networks.
• Exposure to machinery or ICT distribution industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (to manage Chinese-speaking distributors).
• Able to conduct external meetings and site visits independently.
