Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Compliance Manager to liaise with regulators and provide advisory support on regulatory expectations. You will communicate risks to senior management and oversee periodic reviews and remediation, ensuring alignment with governance standards across the organization.

The role emphasizes data-driven risk analysis, thematic reviews, and on-site engagement to validate practices, while mentoring the team and driving compliance training across Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in any discipline.
• 6–10 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, operations or related functions.
• Willing to travel regularly across Malaysia.
• AML/CFT knowledge is an added advantage.
• Experience in financial services, lending, pawnshop or related environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Act as key liaison with regulators and manage regulatory communications.
• Provide advisory support to business units on regulatory expectations and practical implementation.
• Communicate compliance risks, developments, and key updates to senior management.
• Oversee periodic compliance reviews and ensure timely remediation of identified gaps.
• Lead data-driven risk analysis using tools such as Excel/Tableau to identify trends.
• Conduct thematic reviews to detect risk exposures.
• Oversee accuracy of regulatory submissions (monthly returns, CTR, STR, etc.).
• Lead ERM reviews for operational risks.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Drive compliance awareness through targeted training and engagement.
