Hemei Life Care Centre in Malaysia seeks a Registered Nurse with general ward experience to deliver nursing care for residents in a senior living and rehabilitation setting, monitor health, administer medications and document care plans while leading the Caregiver team.

This daytime role offers training and a clear pathway to Branch Nurse Manager, with flexible half-day and rest-day arrangements and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing and active registration with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
• APC eligible or company to assist with APC application.
• Preferably 1–2 years of general ward or multidisciplinary nursing experience.
• Fresh graduates with suitable clinical training may be considered.
• Multilingual candidates and driving licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor residents’ health conditions and vital signs.
• Recognise and respond to changes in residents’ conditions.
• Administer medications safely and maintain medication records.
• Perform wound assessment, wound dressing and other nursing procedures.
• Perform Ryle’s tube insertion and manage tube feeding.
• Urinary catheter insertion and care; manage drains and surgical tubes.
• Coordinate with doctors and other professionals; respond to emergencies.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes, medical records and incident reports.
• Lead, supervise and guide the Caregiver team; ensure coverage.
• Communicate care plans to residents, families and the care team.

Registered Nurse (General Ward Experience Preferred | No Night Shift)

About the role
The Registered Nurse will provide general ward-level nursing care within a senior living and rehabilitation environment. The role involves monitoring residents with different medical conditions, administering medication, performing nursing procedures, maintaining clinical documentation and leading the Caregiver team.

The nurse will work closely with doctors, rehabilitation professionals, family members and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. This is a daytime position with no night shifts and offers professional training and career progression towards becoming a Branch Nurse Manager.

5.5 working days per week

Full-day hours: 9:00 am–6:00 pm

Half-day hours: 9:00 am–2:00 pm

One full rest day and one half day per week

Employees may indicate their preferred half-day and rest day, subject to team coordination and nursing coverage

No night shifts required

The final work location will be arranged based on the candidate’s preference, available vacancies and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

Assess and monitor residents’ health conditions and vital signs

Lead, supervise and provide practical guidance to the Caregiver team

Work closely with the multidisciplinary care team

Ensure all nursing procedures comply with professional standards, the nurse’s clinical competency and company policies

About you

Degree in Nursing

Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board

Possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC), or be eligible for the company to assist with the APC application

Preferably 1–2 years of general ward, multidisciplinary or relevant clinical nursing experience

Fresh graduates with suitable clinical training may be considered

Able to care for residents with different medical conditions and nursing needs

General ward experience will be an added advantage

Experience in medication administration, wound dressing, Ryle’s tube insertion, urinary catheter insertion and managing surgical tubes or drains will be an added advantage

Able to recognise health deterioration, respond to emergencies and coordinate medical care

Comfortable working with doctors, rehabilitation professionals, family members and the multidisciplinary care team

Good communication, nursing documentation and record-keeping skills

Able and willing to lead a team of Caregivers

Multilingual candidates will have an added advantage

Leadership or management experience will have an added advantage

A valid driving licence and ability to drive will have an added advantage

Scope clarification
This position focuses on general nursing care, health monitoring, medication management, nursing procedures, medical coordination, clinical documentation and supervision of the Caregiver team.

The Registered Nurse is not normally required to perform routine Caregiver duties such as bathing residents, changing diapers or routine feeding. The nurse is also not normally required to accompany residents to routine medical appointments or hospital visits.

Assistance may be required during emergencies or exceptional situations involving resident safety and well-being.
