Job summary

Michael Page International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Regional Team Lead for Merchant Acquiring & Operations to guide onboarding, configuration, and settlement across the fintech payments ecosystem in Asia. You will oversee merchant onboarding, QR payments, and partner integrations while leading a growing operations team.

The role requires hands-on payment operations experience, regional stakeholder management, and strong communication skills in English (Mandarin advantageous).

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Payments, Technology, Commerce, or related disciplines
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience within Merchant Acquiring, Payment Operations, Payment Acceptance, Payment Processing, PSP, Payment Gateway, Fintech, or related environments
• Hands-on merchant acquiring experience is mandator
• Strong experience in merchant onboarding, merchant configuration, and payment acceptance operations
• Good understanding of payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, QR payments, payment terminals, and POS solutions
• Experience supporting merchants, acquiring partners, PSPs, payment gateways, or payment networks
• Strong stakeholder management and operational problem-solving capabilities
• Technical aptitude with the ability to understand APIs, payment flows, integrations, system configurations, and transaction troubleshooting activities
• Prior team leadership experience or experience serving as a senior escalation point would be highly advantageous
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Mandarin language capability would be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead merchant onboarding, configuration, payment acceptance setup, maintenance, and offboarding activities
• Manage QR payment acceptance, payment terminals, POS integration support, and supported payment channels
• Validate merchant IDs, payment methods, and acceptance configurations
• Coordinate terminal deployment, replacement, and operational support activities
• Support PayNow QR, Alipay+, WeChat Pay, UPI, and other supported payment schemes
• Investigate transaction failures, payment discrepancies, refund cases, and settlement-related enquiries
• Manage acquiring partner onboarding, platform readiness, configuration, and go-live activities
• Participate in integration discussions, UAT testing, production validation, and operational readiness processes
• Support transaction routing, reconciliation workflows, and settlement operations
• Act as the operational bridge between merchants, partners, Product teams, and Technology teams

This position serves as the operational lead for both Merchant Acquiring Operations and Acquiring Partner Operations across the organization's payment ecosystem. You will oversee merchant onboarding, payment acceptance configuration, partner integrations, transaction troubleshooting, merchant servicing, settlement support, and operational governance activities while leading a growing operations team.

As part of its continued business expansion, the organization is seeking an experienced payments professional to support merchant onboarding, merchant acquiring operations, payment acceptance activities, and partner implementations.

Description

• Lead merchant onboarding, configuration, payment acceptance setup, maintenance, and offboarding activities
