Powertrust is seeking a proactive Business Development Associate in Malaysia to expand our network of solar developers and corporate buyers, drive lead generation, and manage REC certification processes. The role blends relationship-building, project coordination, and market intelligence to scale renewable energy adoption across Southeast Asia.

The candidate will work remotely from Malaysia, with occasional travel and flexible hours to accommodate international time zones.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in renewable energy.
• Experience in outbound prospecting and lead qualification at all organizational levels.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to create presentations and reports.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with solar project development, permitting processes, energy markets, or REC processes is desirable.
• Comfortable using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and project management platforms.

Responsabilités

• Generate leads and build a pipeline of solar developers and corporate buyers in Malaysia and SE Asia.
• Conduct strategic conversations with decision-makers to understand procurement or financing needs and position REC solutions.
• Track KPIs such as opportunities and conversion rates; report to leadership.
• Maintain relationships with developers, buyers, EPCs, and project owners throughout the lifecycle.
• Represent Powertrust at solar expos and client meetings to strengthen partnerships and close deals.
• Prepare proposals, support contract negotiations, and ensure smooth handoffs to operations.
