Job summary

Alibaba Group is seeking a Regional Employment Counsel to advise and guide internal stakeholders on employment matters across the Southeast Asia region, covering recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance, retention, discipline, and separations.

You will design and deliver legal training programs to build internal capability on employment law compliance and monitor legislative developments to provide proactive, practical guidance to the business.

Qualifications

• Must hold a law degree and active bar admission/license in SEA region.
• Experience in both private practice and in-house roles is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment law across jurisdictions.
• Ability to deliver practical, solution-oriented legal advice in a commercial context.

Responsibilities

• Advise and guide internal stakeholders on employment matters across the full employee lifecycle in the region.
• Design and deliver legal training programs to build internal capability on employment law compliance.
