Job summary

Ambition is partnering with a global financial services organisation in Kuala Lumpur to recruit an Actuarial Modeller for a centralised modelling team on a regionally impactful 1-year contract.

You will build, test and maintain standardised actuarial models using Prophet, implement migrations, perform unit testing and document models for audit readiness. 4–6 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of relevant actuarial modelling experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Studies, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Prophet is highly desirable.
• Python proficiency is a strong plus.
• Sound understanding of Life insurance products and cashflow modelling for valuation purposes.
• A curious, growth-oriented mindset with a positive approach to new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain standardised actuarial models using Prophet or comparable software.
• Implement the standardised model framework, including migrations between Prophet versions/alternatives.
• Conduct unit and bulk testing and support impact analysis during implementation.
• Produce high-quality code and model merging with robust controls and checks.
• Document models and build validation tools to support audit readiness for local business units.
• Maintain version control, update back-testing, and communicate findings to the modelling lead.
