Job summary

Prudential invites applications for an actuarial modelling role focused on Prophet, DCS, and data processing in Kuala Lumpur. You will model new products, ensure compliance with documentation, and support valuation data processes. Strong SQL/Excel skills and actuarial experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science or other quantitative discipline.
• Associate designation from a recognized actuarial society is preferred.
• Knowledge in Prophet, DCS, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and SQL.
• Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Model new products in Prophet adhering to BNM documentation and basis.
• Ensure model enhancements/assumption updates align with valuation team documentation.
• Maintain documentation and validate Prophet-related processes.
• Compile evidence of compliance with regional Prophet policies for year-long audit readiness.
• Perform data checks on DCS and Alteryx used for model point files and inputs.
• Lead IT discussions for data issue prioritisation and Prophet cloud/license server issues.
• Provide support to actuarial teams for Prophet-related issues.
• Support experience study methodology alignment with actuarial projection methods.
• Assist with data/model-related queries and transformation projects.

Modelling of New Products, Annual Model Enhancements and Maintenance

• Ensure new products modeled into Prophet adhere to BNM's submitted product documentation and the basis.
• Ensure model enhancements/assumption updates are in line with documentation from the valuation team.
• Ensure proper documentation and checking.

Compliance Related to Prophet

• Compile evidence of compliance with regional policies on the Prophet model throughout the year.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors for model and valuation data.
• Ensure proper documentation of the validation and findings.

Valuation Data Processing

• Perform checks on DCS used to generate the model point files.
• Perform checks on Alteryx used to generate data input.
• Perform valuation data UAT for bug fix and enhancement.
• Liaise with respective teams for ad-hoc data requests and/or valuation data enhancements.
• Lead discussion with IT for prioritisation of data issues ticket.
• Liaise with IT regarding the Prophet cloud server and Prophet license server.
• Provide support to various actuarial teams for Prophet related issues.

Data and Modelling Support

• Support the alignment of experience study methodology with actuarial financial projection methodology.
• Provide support for data and model-related queries.

Driving Improvement Initiatives

• Support on FFP related matter.
• Support transformation projects (e.g. migration of DCS to Alteryx)

Job Requirements

• Degree in Actuarial Science or other quantitative discipline.
• Preferred to have an Associate designationfrom a recognized actuarial society.
• Knowledge in Prophet, DCS, Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and SQL.
• Preferred to have minimum 5 years' experience in actuarial field.
• Curious, self-driven, independent, great attention to details, problem solver and work well with others.
• Good spoken/written communication skill.
