Atomic Recruitment SEA is seeking an experienced Energy Manager in Malaysia to drive energy efficiency initiatives, monitor performance, and ensure regulatory compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga.

You will develop strategies, conduct audits, support EnMS implementations (ISO 50001), and coordinate with engineers and operators to deliver measurable energy savings.

The role requires a ST-registered energy management competency, a relevant engineering degree, and strong analytical and reporting skills.

Location: Malaysia | Industry: Data Centre | Salary up to RM11,000

We are seeking an experienced Energy Manager with a valid energy management competency registration recognised by the Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) to support energy efficiency initiatives, energy performance monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement energy management strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
• Monitor, analyse and report on energy usage, performance indicators and energy-saving opportunities.
• Conduct or coordinate energy audits and recommend practical energy conservation measures.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of Energy Management Systems (EnMS), including ISO 50001 where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable energy regulations and relevant Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements.
• Review the energy performance of electrical and M&E systems, including power distribution, HVAC, chillers and other building services, where relevant.
• Prepare energy management reports, audit documentation and technical recommendations for clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and facility operators to implement energy efficiency improvements.
• Track the effectiveness of energy-saving initiatives and recommend continuous improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Must hold a valid ST-registered energy management competency certificate, such as the relevant Registered Energy Manager (REM) qualification, meeting the client's requirements.
• Practical experience in energy management, energy efficiency, energy audits or electrical/M&E engineering.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency regulations and energy management practices.
• Familiarity with ISO 50001, energy performance monitoring and energy-saving initiatives.
• Strong analytical, technical reporting and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Background

• Experience in M&E consultancy, facilities management, industrial facilities, commercial buildings or data centre projects.
• Exposure to energy audits, Detailed Energy Assessments (DEA), EnMS implementation and electrical or mechanical building systems.
• Experience translating energy performance data into measurable efficiency improvements.
